More information on Allu

Allu is a virtual learning and working environment at North Karelia University of Applied Sciences.

Allu is a tool for both individual and cooperative studying. You have the opportunity to discuss and communicate, and to distribute and store material. Teachers can store study material, assign and receive exercises, and instruct students.

Allu can be used as a support for contact teaching and as a method of multi-modal education, as a part of virtual teaching, and as a working environment for instruction and projects. Allu provides tools for different kinds of activities, such as information distribution, communication, material distribution, assigning exercises, instruction, group work and different forms of interaction.

Allu is a versatile support for studying! More information on the use of Allu in your studies can be obtained from teachers in your degree programme.

Login to Allu at allu.ncp.fi or click on a link on the web page of North Karelia University of Applied Sciences at www.ncp.fi.
If you are a student or a member of staff at North Karelia University of Applied Sciences, you already have the required access codes to the Allu-system – they are the same username and password you use when logging in to the ncp-network.

• The front page of Allu has a browser test where you can check the compatibility of your computer with Allu (see allu.ncp.fi)
• Your browser must allow pop-ups when using Allu (browser-specific instructions will appear here later)
• If you wish to use the document editor or rework a study unit as a teacher, your computer must have SUNs Java Virtual Machine version 1.4.2_06 or newer version (download "Java Software").
